1. Cut the second seal into a cross section with a knife. If there are many small pores (small honeycomb) on the cross section, this shows that there are two possibilities. One is manual gluing, which will be wrapped by air and produce bubbles. Another possibility is that the secondary sealant produced by low-level process will have pores even if it is glued by machine. As long as the cross section has pores, its life will be very short.
2. Cut any connecting angle of the insulating glass with a knife to see if the connecting angle is effectively wrapped by butyl rubber. Theory shows that for the double-channel sealed insulating glass made of connecting angle, the water permeable path is mainly located at the four corners, and the water permeable rate is 70%, while the water permeable rate at the edge is only 30%. Therefore, use continuously curved aluminum strips or wrap the four connecting angles with butyl rubber as effectively as possible, it can greatly extend the service life of the insulating glass. 3. Use a knife to cut a few centimeters between the two parts of the second seal and the glass bonding, and then tear off the sealant by hand. If the glass surface is smooth after tearing, there is no residual glue, indicating that there is no adhesion between the sealant and the glass surface, then the sealing effect can be imagined.
4. Add, check whether standard molecular sieve is used, whether butyl rubber is continuous (without disconnection), if it is not polysulfide rubber, whether other secondary sealant compatibility tests have been done (compatibility tests must be done, otherwise it is likely to be endless), if ordinary silicone rubber is used instead of standard adhesive tape to seal window frames, then the compatibility tests of silicone rubber and sealant at the edge of insulating glass must be done, otherwise, there may be endless troubles (some door and window installation companies purchase inferior oil-filled silicone glue to seal window frames. Over time, mineral oil will migrate out and corrode the entire insulating glass sealing system. This kind of evil effect will take some time and must be prevented in advance).
